The Cattery

The cattery at Clunkamoor was built in 1998 & was opened in September of that year. It consists of five units capable of housing up to 4 adult cats in each. The units have an insulated eating & sleeping area with either a heat lamp or a heated mat. cats are much more discerning eaters than dogs, as a result of which we have an extremely varied menu available for them during their stay. it includes several different types of tinned food. They also have water at all times & if they do not drink water they are offered evaporated milk.

The Kennels - "your dog's holiday"

Leo's on holidayThe kennels have recently been refurbished and upgraded. Every kennel is well insulated with double glazed windows and wood cladding. To ensure your dog is both warm and comfortable each kennel features its own heat lamp and a "vet bed".

My own dogs are fed on a 100% natural diet which I am happy to discuss with you. the normal kennel diet is a chicken & rice based complete food, 19% protein, & this is mixed with tripe.

We can cater for special diets and diabetic dogs if required. Please call us to discuss these or any other special requirements.

Whilst your pet is staying at Clunkamoor, they are covered for emergency treatment by the kennel insurance which is provided by Pet Plan.

Vaccinations

This subject is as complicated and emotive in animals as it is in children but it has long been my opinion that animals are innoculated too often.

There are too many coincidental medical conditions that occur suspiciously close to an animal having their booster, mainly associated with the immune system. my own animals are innoculated homeopathically & I have no objection to boarding animals that are innoculated in that way.

If it is your choice to have the Kennel Cough vaccination administered to your dogs, please make sure that it is done at least three weeks before the dogs comes to the kennels as the live vaccine that is given can spread around the other dogs like wild fire.
